The Canterbury House Policies

Minimum Night Stays:

Multi-night minimums may apply. Weekends, June through August and all week mid-September through October 25th, holidays and Special Events.

Check-in/out Times:

Check-in is between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. We do not allow early check-in. Check-out is 10:30 a.m.

As we do lock up at night, if a later arrival is necessary, arrangements must be made 48 hrs. in advance.

As we must prepare the rooms for our next guests we can not extend the check-out time.

Occupancy:

We can only accommodate two people per room.

Children/Pets:

We do not accept children. Pets are not allowed.

Damage

Our home is very important to us. While we believe that wear and tear is a cost of doing business, damage is not.

If damage occurs you will be charged for it's resolution which may include a charge for our time as well as any item's repair or replacement.

Your credit card both acts as a guarantee for your room reservation and an indemnifier for costs associated with any damage you cause while staying at the Canterbury House. As such, any damage will be charged to your credit card.

 

Smoking:

We are a non-smoking establishment.
There is a $250 refurbishing charge for anyone smoking in the house or guest rooms. This fee will be put on the credit card used to rent the room.

Taxes:

All rates are subject to the 9% Vermont state room tax.

Deposits

There is a one night or 50 percent (whichever is greater) per room deposit taken at the time a reservation is made.

However, for reservations made within 48 hours of the arrival date a deposit for the full amount will be applied to your credit card at the time the reservation is made.

Refunds

Any refunds due to a cancellation will be issued by company check within 14 days of notice for those cancellations outside of the cancellation period.

Cancellations made with less than 14 days notice will be issued by company check within 14 days of the departure date

 

 

Cancellations:

... NO CANCELLATION IS VALID UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED A WRITTEN/EMAIL CANCELLATION CONFIRM- ATION FROM US.

There is a $25 service charge per room for all cancellations.

Normally 14 day notice must be given to receive a refund. However, for holidays, Foliage, special events, or multi-room reservations, 30 days notice is required.

For cancellations made within the applicable period (two weeks, or a month) and up to 48 hours of your arrival date, you will be responsible for 50% or one nights stay whichever is greater, per room. However, if we are able to re-rent your room(s) for the entire stay, then you will only be charged the $25 cancellation charge for each room that is re-rented. For cancellations made within 48 hours of your arrival date you will be charged for your entire reservation.

Again, as noted above all reserva-tions are subject to a minimum $25 per room service charge for changes or cancellations regardless of the length of notice given.


Early Departures:

Early departures are treated as a cancellation.
